Chahal Can pull off another “Chahal” as Rajasthan takes on Kolkata at Eden Gardens?: IPL2024: KKR vs. RR

As of right now, Yuzvendra Chahal leads all IPL wicket-takers in history. In 151 games thus far, he has claimed 198 wickets. Since 2013, he has claimed a wicket in the Indian Premier League for every 16.69 balls bowled. He has an economy rate of 7.66 and has given up 21.31 runs for every wicket.
Chahal will have the opportunity to accomplish something that no bowler has done in the IPL thus far on April 16 when the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) square off at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Chahal needs to get 200 IPL wickets. He needs just two more dismissals to pull off this extraordinary achievement.

Yuzi’s greatest IPL bowling stats came in 2022, when he faced none other than KKR. When Chahal entered the bowling after the powerplay, Kolkata was 57/1 in six overs at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Nitish Rana was the first player he removed (18 off 11 balls). That was the fifth time that Rana had let the leg-spinner have his wicket.
The Purple Cap holder, Chahal, returned to bowl against Kolkata in the 17th over, with the score at 178/5. As the KKR batsman walked out, he dismissed Venkatesh Iyer (6 off 6 balls), and Sanju Samson stumped him.

Can Chahal Pull of Another Trick

Shreyas Iyer, the captain of KKR, was batting at 85 from 50 balls when he was removed by him in the same over. His third dismissal of the over came against Shivam Mavi. After Yuzvendra Chahal scored his hat trick, it was Pat Cummins’ time to walk back to the pavilion for a golden duck.

Chahal turned the tables on the Royals with four wickets in his penultimate over. His 5/40 in 4 overs is still regarded as one of the IPL’s greatest feats. That match was won by RR by 7 runs.

Is he capable of making RR stand out from KKR once more? When he takes the field against Kolkata once more, he will don the Purple Cap. Tilli is someone you never know!
