“Karthik is currently playing at the top of his game and appears to be in excellent form,” Pathan noted. “However, the demands of Indian cricket and the World Cup are on a whole other level.” Pathan pointed out that in World Cup competitions, teams typically do not field uncapped players, and the Impact Player rule, which allows substitutions during a match, is not in effect. “This means Karthik’s batting options may be more limited, and he will have to cope with the immense pressure of performing on the biggest stage,” Pathan explained. “The challenges he faces in the World Cup will be vastly different from what he experiences in the IPL.”
