“Suresh Raina, a former CSK teammate of RCB skipper Faf du Plessis, has slammed him for making comments about Mayank Dagar’s performance to the media, as RCB’s tough season continued with a heartbreaking one-run loss to KKR, placing them at the bottom of the IPL points table.”
“Suresh Raina, the former Indian cricketer, slammed Faf du Plessis for his leadership as things went awry for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru side, succumbing to their seventh loss of the season against Kolkata Knight Riders by a mere run on Sunday. Expressing his dismay, Raina criticized du Plessis’ handling of a match against Rajasthan Royals, where he attributed the loss to Mayank Dagar. Raina suggested that Rohit Sharma, in a similar situation, would have handled it differently with his player.”
In his interaction with the media, Du Plessis remarked, “The pitch definitely improved; there was noticeable change; the ball was moving smoothly. We started well in the first four overs. I believe that 20-run over (from Mayank Dagar) shifted the momentum and placed pressure back on us.”

“Suresh Raina Stands by Mayank Dagar Amidst Faf du Plessis’ Criticism”
Former India cricketer Suresh Raina, who was once Faf’s teammate at Chennai Super Kings (CSK), has stepped forward to support the young player Mayank Dagar. Speaking to Lallantop in Hindi, Raina expressed his disapproval of Faf’s criticism towards a young player in front of the media, especially considering Faf’s own struggles in scoring runs lately.
“The way Faf addressed a junior player in the media isn’t appropriate. Even the captain hasn’t been in top form lately. I’ve shared the field with Faf for years, and he’s a close friend, but he should be backing the younger players. Rohit Sharma, for instance, wouldn’t make such remarks,” the former CSK star conveyed to Lallantop.
“Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Valiant Effort Falls Short in One-Run Thriller Against Knight Riders”

Despite Jacks’ 55 off 32 balls and Patidar’s 52 off 23 balls, RCB fell short in their chase of the formidable 223-run target set by KKR. RCB managed to score 221 all out, even with a last-over blitz by Karn Sharma who scored 20 off 7 balls. Andre Russell claimed three wickets (3/25), while Sunil Narine and Harshit Rana took two wickets each for the home side.
