Social media users weren’t happy with the orange color that was recently added to the jersey; many of them linked the modification to the ruling party.
“As Saffron, the ruling party color. Our blue jersey is turning yellow. Following a few years, adversaries have misinterpreted us as Dutch or Indians,” an Instagram user wrote in response to an Adidas post.
Another user commented, “Indian blue jersey is slowly turning down to saffron jersey.”
Some social media users praised Team India’s new jersey despite criticism.
An Instagram user stated, “Gen Z kids are forgetting that Tiranga’s colors are saffron and blue.”
Looking at this jersey, it’s evident how horribly the political party is represented in cricket. The current was really lovely.
“This jersey reminds me a little bit of the jersey worn during the 2019 ODI World Cup against England.”
“A Closer Look at Team India’s 2024 T20 World Cup Jersey”- An X user wrote, “Indian flag Tri Colors on the Collar. 🌮🌳.”
There are several variations in the team’s new jersey, both in terms of design and color scheme. The newer version of the jersey includes an orange and blue mix, while the previous version was completely blue. The jersey features a tricolor on the V-neckline and three white Adidas stripes. The Dream 11 logo was also embroidered on the sleeves of the jersey’s earlier iteration. This time, the logo appears solely above “India” at the front. There is just a single star above the BCCI insignia on the jersey. The single star represents the 2007 T20 World Cup trophy that India won under captain MS Dhoni.
