IPL MI vs PK Highlights of Yesterday’s Match-33 Look How MI Twisted the Plots

In IPL 2024 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Mohali, Mumbai Indians defeated Punjab Kings by 9 runs on Thursday, earning their third victory of the year.

The Mumbai Indians’ innings was opened by the well-known duo of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. But in the third over, Ishan Kishan attempted to cut a delivery from Kagiso Rabada on the off-side but instead found Harpreet Brar close to the boundary, costing MI their first wicket of the game in IPL.
After joining Rohit Sharma, Surya Kumar Yadav and the Mumbai Indians’ innings were stabilized as they scored a lot of runs against Punjab Kings. In the process, Surya hit a single off of Harshal Patel’s bowling to bring up his 23rd IPL fifty, his second of the season, off just 34 deliveries.

However, Rohit Sharma (36 off 25 balls) was caught off guard by a slower delivery from Sam Curran in the next over, and Harpreet Brar made another spectacular diving catch.

After joining Surya, Tilak Varma joined him, and for the next five overs, the pair kept Punjab Kings under strain until SKY (78 off 53 balls) was removed in an attempt to increase the scoring rate as Prabhsimran Singh made a brilliant catch.

Tim David (14 off 7 balls) and captain Hardik Pandya (10 off 6 balls) were instrumental in helping MI reach 192/7 from their allowed 20 overs, even though Tilak Varma (34 off 18 balls) stayed unbeaten throughout the innings.

MI was unable to get more than 200 runs, though, because to some outstanding bowling from Harshal Patel, who claimed two wickets and gave up only seven runs in the last over.

Punjab’s wild adventure comes to an end with a 9-run defeat in IPL

Sam Curran, the captain, assumed the additional duty of beginning the innings with Prabhsimran Singh in Shikhar Dhawan’s absence. But in the opening over of the innings, Prabhsimran was removed by Gerald Coetzee, indicating that the opening combination had no effect.

The next over proved to be a shocker for Punjab Kings as Jasprit Bumrah claimed the vital wickets of Riley Rossouw and Sam Curran in the IPL match. After losing four wickets in the third over for a score of 14/4, Liam Livingstone followed suit in the following over to leave PBKS in a dire situation.

The Punjab Kings innings was then steadied for a while by Harpreet Singh Bhatia and Shashank Singh, getting them very near to the 50-run threshold before the left-hander was removed for 13 (14), by Shreyas Gopal, in the seventh over. Before Jitesh Sharma (9 off 9 balls) removed the wicketkeeper-batsman in the tenth over, Akash Madhwal ended the wicketkeeper-batsman’s partnership.

In the thirteenth over, Punjab lost their seventh wicket of the game to Shashank Singh (41 off 25 balls). The Kings were then given new life by Ashutosh Sharma (61 off 28 balls) and Harpreet Brar (21 off 20 balls), but their consecutive wickets in the last overs turned the tide of the match in MI’s favour, ultimately sealing a 9-run victory. This IPL is fun, exciting and Shocking.
